What should I do if the video player does not load properly, or if only half the video appears?

Every time you access a web page your browser will store this content onto your computer. However, when you revisit a certain web page your browser will attempt to display the stored content (Cache), which can cause problems when trying to view videos.

If you are experiencing problems with the NHS 247 video player, it is important to set your browser so that you are able to view new versions of the stored pages on every visit to the site.

To change this setting on Internet Explorer:

  Open your browser

On your browser menu, go to "Tools"
Click on
"Internet Options"
On the
"General" tab, under "Browsing history", click on "Settings"
Under
"Check for newer versions of stored pages", select the option that says "Every time I visit the webpage"
Click OK

Close all browser windows and re-open the browser to revisit the web page. This problem should now be resolved.

NOTE:
If you are using other browsers or not sure about changing this setting, please contact your Network Administrator to adjust this setting.

What should I do if the video player is slow and takes time to refresh?

If the video player is slow, or takes time to refresh, this could be due to your internet connection speed. This video player requires a connection speed of at least 2MB Broadband Connection. To view the NHS247 video player you might need to upgrade your internet connection to a higher speed.

What should I do if the video player freezes when I click on a video?

If you find that the video player continually freezes on your computer, please ensure that you do not have too many web windows open. Having several windows open can affect your computer's processing power, which can cause problems when loading videos, especially on slower machines.

For further queries and advice, please contact our technical team at NHS247.com.

Thank you for your patience,

NHS 247
