NHS247 is the first independent on-line Healthcare community designed by healthcare professionals exclusively for NHS personnel and their counterparts in the private sector.
The site is for use by all NHS employees. We have no affiliations to any political parties, the Department of Health or the NHS and are therefore not subject to censorship by these organisations. We have insisted on full independence so that NHS staff can voice their opinions, offer suggestions and discuss the service without fear of censure or reprisals.

The editorial and advisory committee is passionate about providing a community space where front-line staff are able to use the blogs, surveys and suggestions to interact, discuss and review the NHS and their lives without fear of recrimination of any form. The site hopes to celebrate the work of NHS staff, as well as providing users with the opportunity to create personal profiles on which they can chat privately and make connections within the wider NHS staff community, while receiving regular benefits like news updates, staff discounts and access to competitions. We look forward to developing art and photography projects, producing our very own hospital soap podcast as well as encouraging users to take part in our lively forum discussions. If you are an NHS staff member then this is your one-stop online community.

Manifesto
We exist to provide an online community on which NHS staff members can meet and discuss topical subjects relevant to the NHS and make connections with other staff members in a safe and neutral environment. Where staff do not want to disclose their identities they will be protected by anonymity. We provide entertainment, news and an online community for the purpose of sharing information, ideas, advice and entertainment with staff of the NHS all over the UK.
